Ask the Readers...

  • Apparently there are a lot of people out there that name their animals after artists. Did you?
  • Do you have a favorite artist? One of mine is Albrecht Durer. Another is Edward Gorey. I'm all about the lines!
  • Have you ever gone to a museum that you wanted to stay in all day and night until you were the only one there? Did you ever want to spend eight hours just staring at one painting?
  • What's your favorite book? One of mine is "Violin" by Anne Rice. Another is "The Awakening" by Kate Chopin.

Things I Wish Grew On Sidewalks

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
  • cherries - so that they squished beneath your feet and when you go inside of building there would be red footprints everywhere.
  • licorice - it would grow like weeks in the cracks.
  • sequins - all sidewalks would be shiny and irridescent, you'll be walking with jazz hands in no time!
  • Quilted Northern Bath Tissue.

Heavy Head and Shoulders

  • I have become involved with the horrible habit of thinking.
  • Making a house a home.
  • Hoping it truly was an imaginary bug my cat was chasing in the litter box last night.
  • Shortened dark wool pants and flaming white socks over black buckle shoes just don't cut it.
  • Thinking about writing.
  • Unless it is a favorite, is it really necessary to keep a book once read?
  • Matching, dust, organization, neatness, usefullness, and unfinished projects: my continuous obsessions.
  • Finding the right costume that suits me.
  • Advancement and becoming more.
  • Making the most of time and finding the energy to do so.
  • To cap it all off I'm deliberating giving up sugar.

Things I've Spied

Something colorful to add..
I think if I lived near the water all day, I would do nothing else but stare at it. It would take me a month to fly a kite, or read, or eat clam chowder.I think if I lived near the water all day, I would do nothing else but stare at it. It would take me a month to fly a kite, or read, or eat clam chowder. I think if I lived near the water all day, I would do nothing else but stare at it. It would take me a month to fly a kite, or read, or eat clam chowder. Just give me an adirondeck chair and I'm home.
Have fun with architecture.

I totally agree. (From http://www.postsecret.com/)

Nutella has made my mornings sweeter, and fools me into thinking I'm being healthy.

  • I hope there aren't any tornados.
  • M&M's! For Lunch!
  • I wonder if I could do one portrait every day over the summer. Maybe one a week?
  • No one better drop my elephant!
  • MOLE! MOLEY MOLEY MOLE!!!
  • Like a volcano am I.

My Life on the Beach

Inspired by this.
My conversation with VJ about it:
Colleen says: I want to open up a bookstore called Books On the Beach. And that's where it will be.
Sarah says: Ooooooooooooooooooo.
Colleen says: All paperbacks. Under $5
Sarah says: All the books will be justtheweeniestbit warped and have a few grains of sand in them, for character?
Colleen says: Of course,
Sarah says: *nods*
Colleen says: but that will happen naturally.
Sarah says: I love it already.
Colleen says: And, we buy the books back.
Sarah says: Oooooooo, good idea.
Colleen says: Return the book, get $3 back.
Sarah says: NICE.
Sarah says: I will shop there A LOT.
Colleen says: A "Sandals Optional" sign will hang out front
Sarah says: I love it.
Colleen says: The books that are so badly beaten will sit in a moveable cart that will be rolled outside every morning and back in at night.
Sarah says: Perfect.
Colleen says: If they are so bad, then they get burned in the yearly bonfire.
Sarah says: What a glorious end for an old worn out book.

Life Rules for 2007

  • Keep things simple. Over complicating, even with the best intentions, can sometimes take away from the meaning of something.
  • Nothing in this world is permament.
  • When you gotta go, you gotta go.
  • The words 'Please' and 'Thank you' do take you places!
  • Floss. Take care of your body so you can enjoy the Earth while you're here.
  • The Earth will revolve around you when you refuse to accept nothing but the best.
  • Send cards on the holidays. Decorate. Add some color.
  • File.
  • You get what you pay for and you get back what you put into it.
  • Women use sex to get love. Men use love to get sex. Everyone does this to some degree.
  • Expect to pay your own way. It's important not to become a mooch; being independent is one of the best things in life.
  • Celebrate the tiny accomplishments! Give a hoot! Skip! Add an extra olive! Dare to eat a peach!
  • Women in love, need to feel needed.
  • Appropriate to the age.
  • Wear clothes that fit you. There is no sense repeatedly squeezing into the pants that fit you and have had the button re-attached four times within the past two months. Break down and buy a new pair of pants. You'll feel better. You'll be able to breathe. And you'll look hott!
  • Timing is everything. Know when to keep silent, know when you are needed, know when you are not helping a situation, know when.
  • Know when to pick your arguments. You will never be considered a pleasant person if you bicker over every little thing then you will never be likable. If you never stand up for yourself then you will be a push over. Just like Thomas Jefferson said "In terms of fashion, swim with the current. In terms of principle, stand like a rock."

    Cibo Matto can clog dance?

Yet another reason to love Wikipedia: they have a list of lists. I discovered it while attempting to add more girl bands to my radio blog playlist.

And for the record, I am avoiding drama queens. But that won't prevent me from playing one.

    Willow and sarcasm.

Things That Attracted Me to Blogging:

It was something to do in my free time. I could keep a journal and not have my hands hurt like hell from writing in long hand. I learned more about coding. Ooooh! Buttons pretty! Endless possibilities of embarrassing my friends. To actually have an opinion. The illusion of feeling published.

Seven Things I Say Most Often What? Ummmm…. (daydreams) I’m sorry, what did you say? Huh? I don’t know Do you need anything? I love you

Seven Impractical Things I Think Would Be Really Cool Anyway

    • Every Wednesday is Queen Day. Everyone is strongly encouraged to dress in drag.
    • Localized and national monorail system, everyone gets a free ride and it runs 24/7.
    • For the news to tell the truth about what they had to do to get the story and how they edited it before they showed it/published it. Might make some people responsible for their work and take the spin out.
    • A system where your job would circulate. For example, you would be an onion farmer one month, be a news anchor the next month, and a daycare worker the last month. (Yes, yes, I see all of the wholes and realize that the quality would go down; this could be just the assistant job. Maybe.)
    • National Health Care for Americans
    • Cheaper, healthy food and expensive junk food. Why not let filthy habits also be expensive?
    • See charity begin at home and not a world away. A lot could be fixed.

    Lessons Learned in 2005

Image hosted by Photobucket.com * In sickness and in health * Stress is not worth it. It is not an option. It is not healthy. If you cannot change it, then don’t stress. If you can change it, then do it already! * People suck. That is there problem. You cannot change them, only be there for them. * Having a family you love can rock and they can surprise you. * Search for an answer and you will find it. * If you have an obligation, whether or not you want to do it, you still should. If it's really that bad, then leave. Otherwise, there is some good to find in it to make you stay. * Don't let the opinions of others bring you down. The only opinion that matters is yours. You are the only one who knows what is truly right for you.

    ENTROPY

I’m tired of people being scared all of the time. I’m tired of wondering what people’s intentions are by saying to me Merry Christmas. I’m tired of having to agree on everyone’s side about the meaning of Christmas. I’m tired of politics. I’m tired of religion. I’m tired of people believing in the Bible and in their preachers more than in God and some politician on tv. I'm tired of societal norms becoming mandates. I'm tired of funny lines and much prefer actual conversation and opinions being shared that doesn't end in screaming. I'm tired of not being listened to. I'm tired of feeling bad and not being able to do anything for people I care about. I'm tired of being tired. Image hosted by Photobucket.com I'm ready for New Year's Eve because I need a drink.

    Zero Comments

I always wondered whether or not I'm interesting. As a goofball, maybe. But as a person? I try to think about what interests me about other people. Here's a brief list: 1. Travel 2. Positive opinions about things/places, without being too naive or too into stereotypes. 3. A passion for something. Like if they collect something or actively participate in things. 4. Goal-oriented & they achieve them realistically. 5. Learner. They want to learn about things. But they don't dig into your personal life or want to know too many details. That borders on nagging/eavesdropping/rudeness. I'm going to try to check my life against this list every so often. My main goal has always been to see the ocean. And to possibly go to Europe one day. I think that I am always afraid that I am going to be in Europe the day that the Earth explodes. I haven't figured that fear out fully yet. I still haven't figured out exactly what I want to learn. But I am considering my collections. I have started a nice collection of turtles. =) Fake ones, leave the real ones in nature where they can reproduce. However, they must be functional turtles. Not just knicknacks. It can be a picture of a turtle but either I have to take it or be in it. I have one of me smiling in front of the turtle pit in Seaworld. Seaworld and most zoos/aquariums are depressing places. Expensive & depressing places. I've been wondering if I feel the same way about museums.
