• Paying $1.00/lb is good, especially if it is for a textbook that you will carry with you wherever you go to help you lose any weight that you didn't lose while having mono this summer.
• Getting to make ten postcards.
• A possible museum trip.
• Watching your friend's face light up when she finds a $5 bill on the ground.
• Watching the number of pirate friends I have grow.

I have an assignment:
Make ten postcards for ten women on the theme 'beginnings' and mail them by September 1st.
What does 'beginnings' mean to you? I'm expecting I will use lots of glitter, and feathers - possibly a bit of nail polish.

I would love to make more animals and dolls out of wood but I don't know if I have the necessary tools, and wood can be expensive. I might be hanging out at Hobby Lobby oggling the kits or stalking around eBay.

Meet My Elephant

I spent a lot of time on him this last month. Researching elephants. Thinking about elephants. How many types of elephants are there? How do they function? I'm surprised I didn't have dreams of elephants. But I did watch about five seconds of a very disturbing video on youtube where someone is 'training' the elephant and the phrase "hook him!" is shouted. Too scary.
His eyes pivot so that he can no longer see. Then an extra trunk comes out of his back. It's evolution!!! Now, a picture extravaganza!




















































Oh! If only someone could help give him a name!

• Beautiful weather - great for outdoor naps.
• Fluffy belly kitties.
• Wonderful music.
• Glenn attempted to eat the food I burned.

What Would You Do?

Sometimes I want to paint the ceiling green and put a bunch of fake flowers up there. Maybe sting a bee or two, and butterflies.

Last semester we had to do a pastel piece and work from a model that we set up. Everything that you see below, besides the tables, I actually have.



Including the brain. It is sticky and likes to climb walls.

Art Projects for a Rainy Morning

• Paint the ceiling green and hang plastic flowers from it.
• Paint a tree in the corner, hang some plastic flowers from the branches, or a fake birds nest with eggs.
• Dye your cat with easter egg coloring.
• Embroider jeans that have holes in them.
• Make 'monster dollies' out of different fabric scraps. Glue on odd or broken pieces of jewelry.
• Organize your books by the color of their spine.

I think it might be time for a repeat.

Time for a Break

While working on my art project out side of class, I ran into a few problems. Besides working with eggs, I discovered that the window I am putting them up in is warped. So they kinda fall. Well, it came to be break time and my friends from class walked outside. One guy said, "Hey! It's time for a break!" And of course one row of eggs fell and broke. Oye.
