A Heathen's Wednesday Night

    Work's over.
    Go to wal-mart.
Go up and down crowded isles.
Go back and forth b/c you don't have a list.
(Even though you're just buying two dinners, you still forget a lot.)
    Stand over the pumpkins.
    Lament.
    Stand in line and pay.
Wish the cashier Happy Halloween, but she doesn't hear.
(The cashier the previous night did, and she had dyed magenta highlights.)
    Pile groceries into my car.
    Drive home through traffic.
    Pile everything inside.
    Unload from bags.
    Get into comfy clothes.
    Pull hair back.
    Start boiling water.
Realize cans for spaghetti sauce are not pop tops.
Cursed electric can-opener isn't going to work for you.
Even after beloved husband threatened it the previous night.
    Stop water from boiling.
    Put shoes back on.
    Go to the other wal-mart.
Walk through parking lot during which time the only word that you notice yourself muttering is the f-word.
Realize you should probably quiet down.
Grab a manual can-opener and some toilet paper.
    Get back home.
    Make spaghetti.
    Get incredibly full.
    Play Sims.
    Watch Batman Returns.
Get cheered up by beloved husband.
    Cuddle until you fall asleep.

Even Though I Didn't Watch Garden State...

Although I did watch the Grudge, and continuously throughout it I had to stop myself from saying "Death is your gift." (You should see me during the Scooby Doo movies. I giggle maniacally to myself about the 'Scooby gang' and refer to all of the characters by BTVS names. It's sad. By the end I'm typically crying and yelling out to Joss, 'Need more Buffy!' Yeah....) So, anyways...I had a nice relaxing weekend and am currently eating Cheetos. Hey check that out! My keyboard is turning orange. A trip to Wal-mart, a birthday party, a little Sims and Stronghold. Heck, I even started crocheting. I think it is a blanket. Yes, yes...a blanket. As soon as I get Corel loaded I'll be able to start working on some projects. Perhaps even preparing for NaNo. (I should give up now, I'd find much better work as a Muse or an Editor.) It's nice to be online at home ^.^ Pictures to be coming soon. That is all.

Boston Trip Part One

Wednesday night my husband and I and four of our friends launched off to Boston! I had no idea that Missouri had so many adult video stores. I woke up somewhere around the Indiana/Ohio border. Just in time to stop at Bob Evans Restaurant for crepes! I took over driving from about one hundred miles west of Columbus to 32 miles west of Eerie, Pennsylvania. Although I didn't get to take pictures I did get to see Lake Eerie. Just Ontario and Huron left to see! It started to get a little rough by the time we stopped at McDonald's for dinner. I think we were all ready for a stationary nap. I woke up in Buffalo, and felt great! I felt so great that I think I started to worry one of my friends for she repeatedly told me that 'Drugs are bad.' Thirty hours later...we were in Boston!!! And I finally got to see the ocean!

I was quite excited. With my shoes off and my husband's hand in mine, we walked along the coast. Little kids were busy making sand castle's. I think there were even scouts in the water working on a badge.

It was the perfect time.

I could barely contain my excitement. Luckily, Glenn was good enough to just take it.

After a wonderful dinner at Bob's Crab Shack, we headed off to the Dragon Crest event. At which I proceeded to take some beautiful black and white pictures of my friends in their costumes. Now, if only I could find someone to put those pictures onto cd for me, since it seems to be the one thing that Wal-mart does not do.

This is my husband playing his Dragon Crest character, Click! Isn't he cute? If I get permission, then I will post more pics of everyone. There are still at least two rolls to develop.

Us after a long day of Dragoncrest.
Little did we know that in a couple of days we would go on a whirlwind tour of Boston! It was amazing!!!

Don't Judge Me, Just Do My Laundry

I never thought that I would get so lazy as to Frabreeze my husband’s pants instead of getting in my car, driving to Wal-mart, surfing through the crowd, finding a box of allergy-free detergent, standing in line, spending money, fighting my way out of the parking lot, arriving home, doing laundry for a couple of hours and then having clean pants. :grabs Frabreeze bottle and heads for pile of dirty pants:

New Mary

Glad to see she has her own series. Intriguing topic though.
Newsday.com: High anxiety: "Nancy Botwin's husband dropped dead jogging. He left her with two boys to raise and more debt than she had any idea they had, including the mortgage on a big, white-stucco house in a cookie-cutter California development like the one E.T. was staying in when he phoned home.
What's a desperate housewife to do? Sell the SUV? Find a less pricey neighborhood? See if Wal-Mart needs a greeter? All of the above?"

Watch Out for that Return Policy

VJ advised we read Mr. Sun's take on Wal-marts new 'single's night' campaign. I couldn't agree more.
Mr. Sun!: "Wal-Mart has a new inventory item: love.
Singles can head to Wal-Mart's weekly singles nights, held every Friday evening. Billed as a way singles can meet their match while filling their cart, participating customers select shopping carts adorned with red bows identifying them as singles looking to mingle. The rest is up to them.
Here now, Mr. Sun's Signs You Found Your Soulmate At Wal-Mart:
She is everything you always wanted, only crappier.
At your wedding, the aisle you walk down is #7, where you pester your Dad for some Skittles* and a National Enquirer before he gives you away.
Your first child comes nine months later, courtesy to an almost as good as the brand name Sam's Choice condom.
'Bride or groom?' asks the 99 year old man in a blue smock serving as your Wedding Greeter.
Others may have tasted her always-available free samples, but you bought the whole package.
Not that it matters, but she talked like she was American and it turns out she's from Hong Kong.
You'll never forget that night you heard him say, 'I'll take those Pop-Tarts, some Lubriderm, candles, D batteries, the wedding ring, and some Sam's Cola.'
You are 'registered' in Home Electronics and Sporting Goods -- just toss all the wedding gifts in the cart write your name on the bag with a Sharpie.
Your secret to getting a man? Always the lowest cleavage.
The alarm sounded when he stole your heart, and walked out that door to his Camaro. *I decided this weekend that Skittles is the official punchline candy of Mr. Sun. I toyed with 3 Musketeers because musketeers is funny-sounding, and three of them must be even funnier -- but there's something about Skittles that I can't deny. Developing."
