Definitely a Monday

• Working on Christmas.
• Ready for my ear to stop hurting.
• Gonna take care of business this afternoon.

Capital T and that Rhymes with P...

• Discovering that today is free food day: as in cookies, cream cheese cakes, brownies, watermelon, quesidillas, coke, popcorn, pizza, etc.
• Sexy harem jitsu.
• Finding yet another way to pimp out a crafty friend. I'm a mad, maaad woman.
• Paying $1.00/lb is good, especially if it is for a textbook that you will carry with you wherever you go to help you lose any weight that you didn't lose while having mono this summer.
• Getting to make ten postcards.
• A possible museum trip.
• Watching your friend's face light up when she finds a $5 bill on the ground.
• Watching the number of pirate friends I have grow.

• Seventy-two hours of watching "Naruto" with Glenn can't be wrong.
• Discovering that Sophie also enjoys watching "Naruto."
• Gene Simmons is a clutz.
• Discovering that you have been cuddled by a kitty at night.
• "Lick It Good" was the perfect thing to write on a melty birthday cake.
• Witnessing Wal-mart watch out for wandering children in their parking lots.
• Discovering the perfect picture for a t-shirt to wear in the South. (see below)

Starting the Weekend Off Right

All it takes to make him proud of me is unhooking the DVD player and hooking the cable back in.

Shimmy Fest 2007 Sum Up!

Impressions from others:

• Direct quote from Glenn: "You have a bird in your hair."
• Direct quote from the in-laws: "We thought you were gonna pop out!"

Answers to those impressions:

• Yes. I did have a bird in my hair.
• No. The girls stayed put.

Regrets:

• I should have practised putting on my inch long gold eyelashes so that I could have worn them for the show.
• I kinda wish I did put a bit of white blotches on my left shoulder...you know, for the effect.
• I bought that top (and a matching skirt) earlier that day from Miss Judy.

Tips 'n Stuff:

• When your knee hurts - sit your @$$ down!
• I got several compliments on the bird in my hair.
• Family and friends did not recognize me.
• The lady who I bought the costume top from that day was afraid that it was going to fall off too.
• Someone in my group knew where I was by following the trail of feathers thru out the hotel.
• I never realize how crazy I look until I see a picture of myself. Gods...I look huge...so huge I could...I could...I COULD EAT THEIR BABIES!!!

On the other dancers:

• One girl made me feel many things (and I wasn't the only one): first, that I was happy to be a full figured woman; second, that if I had a brother and she was single I would have made an arranged marriage; third, if neither of us were married, and gay, then ...well...yeah. Like I said before, I wasn't the only one who felt that way - or made the mistake of telling her husband. :P
• After watching Miss Kitty Sparkle dance on top of TWO layers of goblets, and ONE layer of shot glasses, I went up to her and said "That was the most f!cking, amazing thing I have seen in my entire life!" She replied quite nicely and sincerely "Oh, why thank you!" Damn, I can be so utterly elegant.
• I learned that it is a good thing to practise your shimmies. No matter what level you are.

• Thriller,
• Eskimo - you know, to mix it up.

Halloween 2008?

Glenn's already got his costume for this year and wants me to dress up as one of the girls.

They Don't Believe Me

Yesterday it rained and rained. Perfect time to finish reading "Holy Cow" (see my review of the book here). Afterwards, I attempted to start up my sewing machine. Threading the machine isn't the problem so much as threading the bobbin. When I couldn't find the manual, I asked Glenn to help. (Yes, he is quite capable of threading a bobbin.) But we couldn't get the needle and bobbin to work together...so clearly this means I will be dancing naked at Shimmy Fest. ;) Other than that...I'm excited about the possibility of purchasing "The Great Ewok Adventure" on DVD. Oh yeah, and getting to the theatre when it's not crowded...maybe next week? When we saw "Die Hard" the other week, I heard a girl outside say, "This is the first time I've ever had to stand in line for tickets at a theatre in Arkansas."

Knowing the Other Person's Habits is Love

Glenn: So, what do you want to eat?
Colleen: I dunno, I'm not really hungry.
Glenn: Who are you and what have you done with my Col?

So what if there are a few weeds?! I MOWED THE LAWN!!!

One month ago my husband took four days off to work outside (mowing the grass, edging, cleaning up, etc.). One month ago it rained for four days straight. The grass went unmowed. For one month my husband and I had mono: total exhaustion, back pains, headaches, etc. So, for one month the grass went unmowed...until last night. When I, Utility Princess, mowed it! Even when I felt those three threatening, heavy drops of rain fall; even when those two Jehovah's witnesses walked up the road, looking at me with raised eyebrows; even when I was listening to Prince and shakin' it for all I was worth: I mowed. And then I got pissed, lost focus and mowed over the power cord. Luckily I live with someone who knows how to rewire these things without causing a fire, and did so...with a smirk. I mowed. And then I went to Wal-mart to get pretties for my bellydancing outfit.

Under Our Pillow

Today Sophie took a trip to the doctor to have her fang removed. The bottom half went missing...somehow...and the top half was showing sings of infection. Howl wondered where she was all day. But now she is home, and shoving Howl away from his food and blocking her dish with her belly. All is right with the world. Now, Glenn and I can go about celebrating our three year anniversary ;)

I Have The Sweetest Husband In the World

Not only did he respond when I asked him if I can go out of town this weekend for a bachelorette party with an immediate yes, he also brought me lunch, ran my errand, cleaned the house and packed me a cooler with treats!

Extreme Close-up

• Beautiful weather - great for outdoor naps.
• Fluffy belly kitties.
• Wonderful music.
• Glenn attempted to eat the food I burned.
• Discovered Bollywood films were meant for me. (Overly dramatic with really goofy music numbers).
• And even though I am no longer up-to-date on the 'Gilmore Girls' scene...it's good to know that fate has my back.

Zipping the Purse Up

• Watched the Pirate Movie
• Dyed my hair by myself. Sophie kept peeking in.
• Lost power. Glenn fixed it.
• Ate crab!
• Measured. Cut. Bent a blade. Cut again. Sanded. Glued.
• Got belts! And a sailor wallet!
• Got a great deal at Pier One.

Something to Talk About

Last night I impressed Glenn by standing on one foot for more than 20 seconds. It's years of southern genes breeding to keep their expectations low.

• Teacher assigned us to make transformers...with wood.
• Helping others re-live my blog.
• Walking thru the cold rain and seeing the rushing water go by.
• Playing with saws!
• Appreciating other's prettiness.
• I know nuclear engineer chicks and they rock.

• Just woke up this morning all giddy. I think the universe knows why, but I sure as heck don't. Oygle.
• I've been having an intercontinental laugh the past couple of days. Oygle.
• Expecting a ginormous rain today. Oygle.
• Hope the squirrel and birds eat all of the bread I put out this morning so Sophie has something fun to look at. Oygle.
• Why does my cat Howl wish to drink out of the toilet bowl? Oygle.
• Just found out where to score some mini Care Bears tins. Oygle.

• KXUA is playing some great music this morning. Oygle.
• Started reading the selected letters of Margaret Mead this morning before finishing the current Wheel of Time book that I'm on. Oygle.
• Glenn has been tearing thru the Hitchhiker's Guide of the Universe books. I've never seen him do this before. Rather kick-ass. Oygle.
• My friend scared the crap out of me last night. But I've forgiven her. Just wait until she sees the pictures I take this weekend....

We Had Fun ;)

A more romantic evening could not have been spent! I came home to find a lovely steak dinner waiting for me. As well as these beauties on my desk!





And then we watched one of my all time favorite movies! The 13th Warrior!!! The kitties were thrilled.







Their reaction was the same later that night when we watched Alien Resurrection.
And what did Glenn get? Two physics books and this shirt.



Because nothing says "Have a Happy St. Valentine's Day" like a blood sucking vampire!
