RECALLED PET FOOD

Hey guys, I just heard about this last night. Certain dog and cat foods have been recalled due to pets getting kidney failure.
The recall covers the company's "cuts and gravy" style food, which consists of chunks of meat in gravy, sold in cans and small foil pouches between December 3 and March 6 throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Menu foods has a list of the various brands, including Iams, here at http://www.menufoods.com/recall/.

Denial

I don't understand the recent move to deny that the Holocaust happened. It's not like people denying the moon landing. Can anyone explain to me that rationale? Below is an article about a man recently put in jail for his book denying the Holocaust.
Holocaust denier: prosecutors Last Updated Tue, 21 Feb 2006 11:54:03 EST CBC NewsAustrian prosecutors want British historian David Irving to spend more time in prison, saying his three-year sentence for denying the Holocaust is too lenient. Irving could have been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty on Monday to charges of denying the Holocaust. Under Austrian law, it is a crime to publicly diminish, deny or justify the Holocaust. Convicted holocaust denier David Irving carries his book Hitler's War arrives at court in Vienna on Monday. (AP Photo/Hans Punz) "The public prosecutor believes the ruling was too lenient in light of a possible sentence of up to 10 years and Irving's special importance to right-wing radicals," said Walter Geyer, spokesman for the public prosecutor's office in Vienna. Irving, 68, told the court on Monday he was wrong in contending there were no Nazi gas chambers during the Second World War. Irving, who has written close to 30 books, was arrested in November 1989 after he denied in speeches in Austria that the Nazis killed six million Jews. He had contended most of the Jews who died during the war succumbed to diseases such as typhus. Austria's Justice Ministry says there were 158 convictions between 1999 and 2004. More Squid

The Corpse Bride. I expected this movie to be more goth. Set in the Victorian era...heheh...and Victor and Victoria...I wish they sang. There was some music, but not much. And, like with The Nightmare Before Christmas, the movie would have been better if the neon was just left out. Why? Why?! The neon nonsense should just be left out. Really. Also, less maggot. Yet, Tim Burton makes these wonderful little villages that make you want to pick up your controller and navigate the movie your way. Maybe he can start making Choose Your Own Tim Burton Adventure or something.... Was there anything else to the Corpse Bride Emily? She seemed like such a shell, such a...er...corpse. Obsessed with marriage, oh and she could play the piano. As is typical with a lot of kid's movies you have the nice, simple plot. But it might have been too simple for this. There didn't seem to be any room to really explore the characters. If you feel angsty enough, go here and right a poem about it. It really needed a bit more squid.

I am at a point where...

...I like table top gaming. It's fun. ...people lie to me and I am less aware of it than I realized. Believing what people tell all of the time is a liability. I am not sure what to do about it. I want to believe my friends. I want them to know that they don't have to lie to me. If we start talking about something you are uncomfortable with, then just ask that we stop talking. Don't lie. ...it's okay to splurge within reason. Save up. Wait. Contemplate. That way when you get something it is something that you want not something for right now. ...the idea of walking and eventually running is becoming a reality. ...I'm okay.

Passadena Anyone?

Lately I have been feeling like I need a good alcoholic drink to calm down. Not sure where this is coming from, unless some of my Irish roots are needing a good quenching. A change is coming over me and it's odd, yet comforting. Tastes in clothes, activities. At first I thought I might have been starting back down the road of depression, but how can that be when I notice how happy I am? I'll get moody before we go do something fun, then during the process I realize that I am having fun. Only children revolt! And my urge to buy out my happiness is also increasing. I spent a good portion of my time yesterday updating my amazon wish list and think I might but something off of it every month starting in February. And the best part? It won't be practical other than to preserve my own sanity. Having a cd player in your car is nice, although the gas can get expensive. I've noticed that I am slowing down, yet my thirst for running has increased. Am I really wanting to run somewhere or am I thinking that I need an ass-shrinking? Truthfully, I think I am about to skip my 30's and head straight into my 60's. I drink tea, watch a few of my favorite 'programs' at dinner, think that some girls are 'a little too young' to wear that, I drive real fast, have started calling people baaaaastards, then I drive real slow, and have started thinking that 'living in California wouldn't be so bad'. Maybe I just feel a need to finish. Although what it is, I have no idea. Mood: happy, hellbound

Intermission

I think I just went through a brief intermission. I have been living at the theatre since around September. Why? Because there has just been sooooooooooooo much drama going on that I can hardly stand to leave; especially when I am locked in the theatre. Don't ask about what I do for the bathroom.... There is just too much damn drama going on, and I think I missed the intermission. Although my ass has gotten bigger from all of the popcorn. When is my curtain call?

Truly Is a Magical Coin

Mazes & Monsters I don't know why this movie has been on my mind lately, maybe it's because of all of the violent stereotypes that are being promoted in regards to gamers. This movie pushed the whole 'gamers are crazy and playing Dungeons & Dragons will only make you lose touch of reality'. I like the viewer's comment at the bottom of the page. I think I was too young to fully digest this movie when I saw it, but I know the caves have appeared in my dreams every so often.

A Simple Question Really

So, is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCM) the new Manic-Depressive Disorder (Bi-polar)?

I've noticed the media and entertainment trends for both in their waxing and waning phases, and wanted to know if anyone else has noticed it, or is it just my own personalities coming out to play again? Thanks.

Wild Mustangs Being Killed By Government

If you care about horses or animals, please read this. I've heard about the wild mustang program, and I thought it was a good thing...until I read this. Turns out that it's now a tool being used by the Bush administration. Horses are still being sold to for slaughter.

Mustang Sallies - Can America's wild horses survive another four years of Bush? By Deanne Stillman: "George W. Bush styles himself a cowboy president. One job of cowboys is to claim the American wilderness for ranching, so it's little surprise the Bush administration is behind a new effort to suppress and perhaps slaughter one of the last symbols of untamed America: our wild horses."
