On NaNo

Last night I broke page 8 for my NaNoWriMo novel. I'm really surprised to, and I hope to keep it up. I'll even have a free weekend. But I'm sure that I'll end up spacing out watching Buffy, or start making jewelry, or finally get some of my Sims to marry each other (which by the way, I am quite close to doing now - the pictures will be coming in a day or so). I always get so caught up in perfecting what I'm writing while I write it that a week will go by and I'll still find myself about forty thousand words short of completion. I don't know, maybe ten thousand words a week is a good thing. I've been told lately that I should finish my other two NaNo novels before I should start this one. They'll probably be edited as well this month when I am stumped as to what to do with my little gnomes. Yes, gnomes. Somehow I cannot get away from the fantasy genre. Maybe it's because I feel like I don't know enough about real life interactions to write well enough that it will be believable. So, I take the unrealistic approach. So, good luck to all of you NaNo adventurers out there! May the leftover Halloween candy give you a sugar rush enough to get you through your first twenty thousand!

You and I are nearly opposed when it comes to writing. I seem to be one of the few people alive who isn't consumed with fantasy... oh well! I still haven't the faintest clue what I'm supposed to be writing, here on day 3, but I'm starting in just a few minutes!
