Halloween Costume Past

It's the thing, and it's fun to remember just what I was. I was a fairy twice. And both times I froze my tootsies off! Minnie Mouse once. It included the outfit, with these HUMONGOUS ears. Just HUGE! MASSIVE! And cute face paint for the mouse nose and whiskers! A cuckoo clock. It was a huge box, with fake wood siding and a clock face on the front. I believe I had wings too. The box sat in the corner at school all day. I think I was in 7th grade. The Sea. My mom had made a line of kelp out of green material and batting. Then, on the front she made a variety of sea life. The Statue of Liberty. It was a pretty white dress that she made, with the poem written on the bottom. I carried a torch and a book. I also had a cool crown. I lost my part of the costume contest to two brothers as ninjas. But my teacher had everyone in school sing the national anthem to me. I think that was 8th grade. Sick child in bed. One of my favorite costumes. I think I was about six, and it scared me because every adult I met was literally FREAKED OUT because they didn't understand how I could be lying in bed, yet walking around. Just wear pajamas, cut a circle in a piece of cardboard and suspend it from your body so it sits around your middle. make a pair of fake legs and dress up the bed like a bed. It's a good idea if you use a skirt for the bed too.

I think when I was little I went as froofy stuff like princesses and ballerinas, because that's what my parental types wanted me to be. When I got older, it was vampires, then axe murderers, suicidal stockbrokers, Jason, Michael Myers, dead Catholic school girls, and one year I didn't bother with the costume and just went around terrorizing the neighborhood with my buddies. Ah, sweet times.
