Creative Projects for a Beautiful Day

Make a series of pinwheels and attach them to something that moves. Collect a nice variety of flat stones in the woods (the yak-free kind) and paint them then give them away to friends as pet rocks. Sculpt a garden gnome and name him. Insert catnip into a puzzle box for your cat to play with. Make biscuits for your puppy. Sing to a gold fish while painting his picture with watercolors. (CAUTION: do not use the fish’s water.) Write a letter to a friend and decorate freely with unused Easter stickers, watercolors, and pressed flowers. Mail it on a Tuesday. Take an entire roll of film on one subject. Make doubles. With the second set, make window charms, bookmarks, postcards, magnets, or posters. Leave them in public. Make your own stars. Hang them from a ceiling that needs attention. Use mirror-esque wrapping paper for at least two walls in that room. Replace the stars with snowflakes when you need a little Christmas. Get drawing paper/journal. And a favorite writing utensil. Cue a favorite moody cd/album. Make a room as dark as you can stand it. Let the music guide your pen. Don’t peep until the music has stopped. Frame it. Put it in your bathroom.
