Ask the Readers...

  • Apparently there are a lot of people out there that name their animals after artists. Did you?
  • Do you have a favorite artist? One of mine is Albrecht Durer. Another is Edward Gorey. I'm all about the lines!
  • Have you ever gone to a museum that you wanted to stay in all day and night until you were the only one there? Did you ever want to spend eight hours just staring at one painting?
  • What's your favorite book? One of mine is "Violin" by Anne Rice. Another is "The Awakening" by Kate Chopin.

My cats name is Maisey. I didn't name her. When we adopted her she answered to that name so I didn't want to change it and confuse her. Luckily, I really like the name. When we were looking for a cat, I had the name Hermione in my head for a girl. For a boy, I was thinking Scout.

I love Monet and Van Gogh because the colors always get me and the subjects of their painting are something that I'm inclined to stare at all day in real life. Flowers, fields, lily pads. Things like that. I like how their pictures are unstructured but are still defined.

Yes to the museuem question. No doubts.

To Kill a Mockingbird will always be number one to me. For so many reasons. It was the first "grown up" book that I read that I could really relate to. And I'm a Harry Potter nut too.

I love cats that actually respond to names!

Mmm...van gogh is wonderful! I've heard people say that the colors were even MORE vibrant when he first made that. That blows my mind.

I loved 'To Kill a Mockingbird' mostly because it dealt with kids relating to adults on a real level, not as things to be ignored.
